Whether you’re worried about weather, neighbors or intruders, there’s a way to keep the outside world at bay – and that’s through the best impact windows. While everyone here in Florida is required to have them, there’s a lot to learn and consider – and not everyone is familiar with the process. Here are some tips for you to digest before you start your shopping!
Durability is everything
Aesthetics are nice and price is just a nice – but at the end of the day you’re making a decision based first and foremost on safety. And while we’d love to go over all of the unique selling points of various brands – most to all of them are made using the latest technology, have high energy efficiency and the like. Go for the brands and makes that can take the biggest beating. Then look at the perks.
Live in the day to day
Once you’ve chosen the safest possible windows, it’s then time to grapple with the things that will likely be the most important to maximizing your investment – and that’s energy flow. There are two basic things for you to ask about – the U-Factor and the R-value. The U-factor is used to describe the overall heat flow of the window. The smaller the factor is, the lower the rate of heat flow. With the R-value – that’s the insulation the window provides. The higher the R-Value of that material, the higher the insulating value. Sorting through this will help you not only get a window that’s safe – but will practically keep air flow where you want it to be.
Know what’s in the warranty
People read over the fine print constantly and it’s a huge mistake. Take time to go over the warranty and don’t be afraid to ask about the particulars. If something does happen – you’ll save a lot of time, stress and money!
Have some fun
This is your chance to help give your house the chance to shine again! So long as you’ve done the proper work and chosen safe windows that can save you some money and are protected in the event something happens – then you get to dive into the fun stuff and pick some great looking design to add some punch back into that curb appeal!
